Paolo Soriani (Rome 1962) he has produced photos of architecture for catalogues and publications. He is famous for his jazz portraits, and has published with ECM (Germany), CAM records, Label Bleu (France), Venus Records (Japan), VVJ, CNI, Warner(USA).
During the past few years he has held seminars and courses about photography at the Art History Institute of the University of Rome and at the Roman branches of Iowa State University. He actually teach Photography courses at John Cabot University and he is the head of Professional Photography School to Fonderia delle Arti in Roma.
He has exhibited his work at the National Gallery of Modern Art in Rome, at the project Visual Arts of the International festival "Time in Jazz", directed by Paolo Fresu and at the International Festival for Photography in Rome. In 2005 he produced "Cities & Island", a multimedia project with the American musician Ralph Towner.
His 2007 project about the “Absence of borders, Essence of borders” testimonies his curiosity about the borders separating Italy from the Europe of the Schengen agreement. The project become a book and a series of exhibits during 2007/2010. During last two years he become official photographer for Jazz label Jando Records/VVJ with many releases. In these years he cured art direction of visuals, websites and records for italian musicians as Pilar, Bollani, MP de Vito, Area and Bungaro.

Paolo Soriani dopo essersi laureato in Storia dell’Arte Moderna a Roma ha collaborato con varie case editrici italiane per le quali ha realizzato foto di architettura per cataloghi e pubblicazioni. E’ stato docente di Fotografia presso l’Istituto Europeo di Design dal 2010 al 2013. Attualmente insegna Fotografia presso la John Cabot University e presso l’Accademia di Belle Arti di Viterbo. Fotografo di musica da oltre 25 anni, ha lavorato tra gli altri con Stefano Bollani, Ralph Towner, Oregon, Paolo Fresu, Enrico Rava, Jan Garbarek, Doctor 3, Enrico Pieranunzi, Area. Nel 2002 ha esposto al Progetto Arti Visive del festival Internazionale “Time in Jazz”, diretto da Paolo Fresu. Nel 2005 ha realizzato “Cities & Islands”, progetto multimediale con il musicista americano Ralph Towner, ed ha esposto al Festival della Fotografia di Roma. Il suo progetto del 2007 “L’essenza dei confini, l’assenza dei confini”, una riflessione sul senso del confine, è diventato un libro e una serie di mostre in tutta Italia. Dal 2011 è il fotografo dell’etichetta JandoMusic/VVJ. I suoi ultimi progetti espositivi sono “Note Fotografiche”, Roma 2010, “Routers” (con il JCU Studio Art Department), Roma 2012, “Jazz in the Eyes”, Orvieto 2013, “Soriansky Meets… Umbria Jazz Winter”, Orvieto 2015, “Una storia lunga 40 anni – Roma Jazz Fest” Roma 2016, Il suo ultimo progetto, “Animanimale”, è stato esposto negli spazi della Pelanda al MACRO – Testaccio nel Maggio 2017. Con il MANN ha già realizzato due progetti fotografici ad illustrare il Report Annuale 2016 e 2017. E’ presente nella Storia essenziale della Fotografia di Diego Mormorio, pubblicato da Postcart nel 2017, nella sezione dedicata al Ritrattismo.
